Avis warns of fake Facebook profile

Avis Rent a Car has become aware of a Facebook page purporting to represent Avis in the Gauteng province. The page is in no way associated with Avis Rent a Car Southern Africa.

“We are unsure why or who created the page, but it is imperative that our customers, the media and the broader public be aware that the page is not ours, despite carrying our logo,” said Rainer Gottschick, Chief Executive of Avis Rent a Car Southern Africa.

 Avis has warned the public not to try to communicate with this page. The only legitimate Avis page is “Avis Southern Africa”, which includes information about the car rental company, along with all relevant contact details.
“We are investigating the matter and hope to have this cleared up as soon as possible,” concluded Gottschick.
