MTN Bushfire 2025 Competition Terms and Conditions

1. Eligibility
   1. The competition is open to all Avis Preferred Members who are residents of South Africa and Lesotho aged 18 years or older, and hold a valid driver’s license.
   2. Employees, directors, agents, or consultants of Avis Rent a Car South Africa, their immediate family members, or anyone professionally connected with the competition are not eligible to participate.
   3. Participants must be registered Avis Preferred Members at the time of entry.
2. Competition Period
   1. The competition runs from 16 May 2025 to 26 May 2025 (inclusive).
   2. Entries outside this period will not be considered.
3. Entry Requirements
   1. To qualify, participants must book and complete a vehicle rental with Avis Rent a Car in South Africa between 16 May 2025 and 26 May 2025.
      1. A minimum of 2 rental days apply.
   2. The rental must be booked directly through Avis (via the Avis website, app, call center, or at an Avis branch) and paid for in full. Your Avis Preferred customer number must be included in the reservation.
   3. Each qualifying rental counts as one entry. Multiple rentals during the competition period will result in multiple entries.
   4. Cancellations, no-shows, or unpaid bookings will not qualify.
4. Prize Details
   1. The prize consists of two (2) double tickets to MTN Bushfire 2025 valued at R13,200 in total.
   2. The prize excludes transportation, accommodation, meals, or any other expenses related to attending the event.
   3. The prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and cannot be redeemed for cash or any other alternative.
   4. Avis reserves the right to substitute the prize with another of equivalent value if the original prize becomes unavailable.
5. Winner Selection and Notification
   1. Winners will be selected via a random draw from all eligible entries, conducted within 3 days after the competition closes (by 29 May 2025).
   2. Winners will be notified via email and/or phone call using the contact details provided in their Avis Preferred Member profile.
   3. If a winner does not respond within 48 hours of notification, Avis reserves the right to select an alternative winner.
   4. The winners’ names may be published on Avis’s website, social media platforms, or other marketing channels, subject to the winners’ consent.
6. General Conditions
   1. By entering the competition, participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
   2. Avis is not responsible for entries that are incomplete, lost, delayed, or not received due to technical issues or other reasons beyond its control.
   3. Avis reserves the right to disqualify any participant who breaches these terms, provides false information, or attempts to manipulate the entry process.
   4. The competition is subject to all applicable South African laws and regulations.
7. Liability
   1. Avis is not liable for any loss, damage, injury, or disappointment suffered by any participant as a result of entering the competition or accepting the prize.
   2. Avis is not responsible for any costs incurred by the winners in connection with attending the event, including but not limited to transport and accommodation.
8. Data Protection
   1. Personal information collected for the competition will be used solely for the purpose of administering the competition and in accordance with Avis’s Privacy Policy (available at [insert link]).
   2. Participants’ data will not be shared with third parties except as necessary to fulfill the prize or as required by law.
9. Cancellation or Modification
   1. Avis reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the competition if unforeseen circumstances arise, including but not limited to fraud, technical failures, or any other factors beyond Avis’s control.
10. Governing Law
    1. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of South Africa, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.

Avis Car Rental rates are valid using a minimum of 2 days rental in all regions. A minimum 2 day rental is required and rentals do not need to include a Saturday & Sunday.

No additional drivers will be permitted on weekend rentals except for direct family members.

If you are renting over a weekend an additional "weekend authorisation" will be taken for the duration of the rental as follows:

- Coastal Branches -  R3,500 (on all car groups)
- Inland Branches - R7,500 on Car Groups A-E and R10,000 on Car Groups F - N

The additional weekend authorisation will be waived from airport locations upon presentation of a valid airline boarding pass/e-ticket printout.

Remember to factor in the amount that will be held against your credit card, so you have enough to spend on your journey.

Once the car has been returned  your credit card will be debited with the final amount due.  The authorisation amount will be released within the time frame as stipulated by your own banking institution.
