Every year the TOP 500 employs a team of research analysts who gather information from over 4000 companies annually, and analyse this data to find the most successful companies from 100 business sectors. They go through a rigorous selection process to pinpoint and celebrate what they call the crème de la crème of business in South Africa, thus making up the Top 500 South Africa’s best managed companies in South Africa.

Avis has been awarded the number one spot in the Car Hire sector. This decision was based on a variety of key business aspects such as; turnover, growth, net profit after tax, turnover per employee, CSI expenditure, percentage of black employees and more.

Currently there are 650,000 companies registered at CIPRO. The Top 500 provides a showcase for the ‘Best of the Best’. Wayne Duvenage, chief executive of Avis says, “We are extremely honoured to receive this award and to be recognised for our leadership in the car rental industry.
